ATTACHMENT 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 6 <br /> C6185-5/95 <br /> COMMUNITY SOCIAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN <br /> GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: <br /> Performs intermediate paraprofessional work providing supportive services instructing clients <br /> who are in.crisis in household management, parenting skills, personal care, and housing and <br /> employment resources; does related work as required. <br /> Work is performed under regular supervision. <br /> TYPICAL TASKS: <br /> Provides supportive services, including modeling of and instruction in household management and <br /> budgeting, parenting and child development, child care skills, personal hygiene and health care, <br /> social skills, housekeeping methods, and accessing housing and employment resources; <br /> Assists clients with use of community services, serves as facilitator and negotiator; <br /> Develops short-term plans detailing tasks to be completed to achieve the goals specified in the <br /> service plan agreement; <br /> Monitors and reinforces progress on the service plan agreement; <br /> Maintains detailed documentation of all contact with clients; <br /> Provides quarterly reports on the service goals to the client and the social worker; <br /> Performs related tasks as required. <br /> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> General knowledge of and skill in enlisting available supportive resources for the individuals <br /> served; general knowledge of household management including budgeting, day care tasks, agency <br /> services, income maintenance programs and community resources; general knowledge of the <br /> social, economic and environmental conditions of clients; ability to solve problems within scope of <br /> responsibility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with culturally <br /> diverse clients, professional personnel, co-workers and the general public; ability to interpret and <br /> apply policies and procedures; ability to attend to the needs of others, to converse with people <br /> and to convey or exchange information. <br /> EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <br /> Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at <br /> least two years experience in a community based human services activity or related work <br /> involving public contact. <br />
