Librarian <br /> The Personnel Department has completed a classification review of the vacant <br /> Library Reference Assistant position in the Orange County Library. The Library <br /> Director requested this review because the duties and responsibilities of the position <br /> have expanded since it became a County position in March 1993. Prior to <br /> recruitment for the position,it is necessary to study it so that the classification <br /> reflects the current duties assigned. <br /> Key changes in the Library Reference Assistant position include: <br /> - It now is responsible for the entire reference function for the Library including <br /> selection of materials for the Reference section. These duties were previously <br /> carried out by the Library Director. <br /> The Library has experienced an increase in citizen demand for professional <br /> information and more technical reference services.
