He said there is demand in this area for more of a fixed route schedule, as opposed to purely demand response. He said the proposal is to offer the opportunity for people to call for demand response service, but there will still be specific service nodes within this zone at specific times. He said this will allow the opportunity to gather data on what method people are really using, in order to refine the service. Bret Martin said three service hours per day are being added to the Senior Center shuttles. Bret Martin referred to slide 15 regarding the Cedar Grove-Hillsborough-Chapel Hill route. He said this service is really just an extension of the Hillsborough to Chapel Hill shuttle up to Cedar Grove, which is just a 15 minute extension. He said the service hours would be extended. Bret Martin said the Hillsborough Circulator route is listed as part of the option 1 service routes because, beginning in 2016, it will begin to take advantage of the vehicle registration fee funding. He said to keep this consistent with other circulator routes it will continue not to have a fare.
