He said there were some interesting facts, including the fact <br /> that the school systems had the same number of pupils in 1989, but since then the growth of <br /> the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools has been 125 percent and Orange County has had a 55 <br /> percent growth rate. He said this is why it is so difficult to do equal funding. He said most of <br /> the other issues will be re-visited at the joint meeting. <br /> Chair Jacobs said the Solid Waste Advisory Group (SWAG) met again last Friday <br /> evening and had a lively discussion about the inter-local agreement. He thought it was a very <br /> promising meeting, and progress is being made. <br /> Chair Jacobs said three volunteers are needed for a retreat planning group and <br /> strategic goals review. <br /> Chair Jacobs said he has talked with manager about helping the Board reduce the <br /> number of ineetings, and the content of the agendas. He said the last two meetings show that <br /> she has been effective in this. And we will review the draft meeting calendar again at agenda <br /> review. <br /> Chair Jacobs said the Board would like to receive updates and pictures on the progress <br /> of the Cedar Grove Community Center and Rogers Road Neighborhood. <br /> 13.
