Because the intervention will begin at the. beginning of month four in year one and run for 14
months, the costs for Ms. Talley's efforts are greater in year 1 than in year two. She will help with recruitment
before the intervention (3 months) and analysis and writing afterwards (7 months). We used a rate of 10 hours
per week for those non-intervention periods and 20 hours per week for the intervention period. We calculated
mileage' expense accordingly so that 9 months of the estimated expense of travel-fall into year one and 5
months into year 2.
