The petitions and responses are listed below: <br />1) Review and consider a request by residents that the Board conduct a public hearing to hear input from <br />the public regarding fluoride being added into water supplies. <br />Response: It was deemed this was not within the County's purview. County is not a water provider, <br />and these concerns are more appropriately directed to those entities that treat and supply drinking <br />water. <br />2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that the Board formally recognize Jackie <br />Shelton Greene. <br />Response: The Chair will send a letter of recognition to Ms. Jackie Shelton Greene. <br />3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that the Board formally recognize the <br />volunteer firefighters in the County. <br />Response: Recognition of individuals designated by each fire department to be incorporated <br />into annual fire chief's meeting each year in October. <br />4) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that the Board ask the Chair to write a <br />letter to United Health Care asking it to stop supporting ALEC. <br />Response: The Chair will send a letter to United Healthcare in response to this request. <br />5) Review and consider request by Commissioner Rich that the County pursue other health <br />insurance administrators that do not support ALEC as part of the June 2015 renewal. <br />Response: Staff is currently pursuing Request for Proposals for Broker of Record; referred to <br />County Attorney. <br />6) Review and consider request to research and share info with BOCC about any current County <br />policy relative to 10% local food provisions applicable to caterers. <br />Response: Staff is reviewing and will bring back information to the Board. <br />
