It should be noted that all lots having a conventional -type drain field with pump <br />are reviewed at a minimum of every five years and all Pretreated Drip systems are <br />reviewed every year by the health department as required by 15A NCAC <br />18A.1961 (Maintenance of Sewage Systems). Also, any Pretreated Drip system <br />must be inspected by a Subsurface Waste Water System Operator as well. <br />6. Pretreated Drip Systems are placed in areas with 18 " -23" of provisionally suitable <br />soil /site characteristics. <br />7. Ultra Shallow Trench Conventional Systems are placed in areas 24" or more of <br />provisionally suitable soil /site characteristics and a 6 -10" soil cap is placed over <br />the trenches. <br />8. Shallow Trench Conventional Systems are placed in areas with 30" or more of <br />provisionally suitable soil /site characteristics. <br />9. Conventional Trench Systems are placed in areas with 36" or more of <br />provisionally suitable soil /site characteristics. <br />10. Innovative Trench Systems can be used in areas with 24 -36" of provisionally <br />suitable soil /site characteristics. <br />11. The approved septic areas should be kept free of vehicular traffic, logging, <br />grading, and compacting activities. It is the responsibility of the property owner <br />or developer to maintain the integrity of the septic areas prior to system <br />construction and installation. No parking, cutting or filling shall be allowed in or <br />around the drain field areas. <br />12. Drainage ways and easements should be utilized to convey stormwater run -off to <br />the storm water retention areas. These conveyances should not be located through <br />designed septic drain field areas. <br />13. This report is for planning purposes only and does not constitute any approval. <br />Lot approval is granted by the health department only in the form of an <br />Improvement Permit.
