Under this option, no other farmers' market would
operate at the Public Market House or on any other county owned property.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: A financial impact has already been incurred by the County and both
community groups involved in mediation with the Dispute Settlement Center, with the groups
being expected to pay their portions of the cost for mediation to the County.
There is no financial impact associated with additional discussion by the Board on the next
steps relative to the administration and operation of a Farmers' Market at the Public Market
House. However, depending on those discussions and any decisions the Board may make,
there may be associated financial impacts that will need to be considered.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the .Board select Option #3 above
and provide any additional comments or direction to staff related to next steps for a farmers'
market at the Public Market House. Based on the Board's decision, staff will bring back for
additional Board consideration any necessary documents, including the draft guidelines, Market
House By-laws, and/or any other standards.
