This property will generate significant tax revenue to assist with
current funding or increased funding of rural fire service. Unce this project
is eomplete it will be petitioned for annexation into the iVlebane jurisdiction
and IVlebane services.
2. Norman Urnstead -Happy Water and Sewer
Shopping ok; Traffic Church
Extent of roadwork, timeframe
' ~ Difference flea market vs. retail
Benefit to Orange County
Response: The current traffic volume at peak times on Buckhorn Road is
greater than the current capacity of Buckhorn Road. The lack of proper
traffic controls into and out of the current Jockey lot increases the delays,
backups and congestion.
The Buckhorn ~/illage project will be guided by the traffic impact analysis.
for roadway improvements; entrance and exit locations, and signalization.
These infrastructure improvements will increase the current capacity of
Buckhorn Road and thus reduce the current delays and traffic jams that
exist on a under capacity road. Widening of Buckhorn Road will
predominantly occur within the existing right-of-way. Should additional
right-of-way be required the property will be purchased based on fair
market value to the owners. It is too early to determine if additional right of
way will be needed.
