Appendix C <br />Revenue Sources Glossary <br />Interest Earned on Local Fund revenue earned by investing available monies in <br />Investments interests bearing checking accounts and certificates of deposit. <br />Miscellaneous Revenue Local Fund revenues that are small and miscellaneous in nature. <br />Prior Year Special District Local Fund revenue received from Orange County for Special <br />Tax District Taxes taxed in the prior year but collected in the current <br />year. <br />Facility Rentals Revenue received from groups and individuals that rent school <br />district property. <br />Sale of Meals Child Nutrition Fund revenues received from the sale of meals to <br />students and adults, and the sale of supplemental foods. Meal <br />rates are approved by the School Board each Fall for Elementary, <br />Middle and High School students and adults. <br />Special District Tax Local Fund revenue received from Orange County. A Special <br />District Property Tax is charged to property within the school <br />district at a rate set by the Orange County Commissioners. <br />Revenue is received as collected. <br />State Appropriations State Fund revenue received from the North Carolina <br />Department of Instruction. Monies are held in the State Fund <br />checking account and funded as needed to the school district by <br />the State Treasurer. <br />State Textbooks State account used to order state approved textbooks. Allocated <br />on a per pupil basis as counted on the tenth day of school each <br />fall. <br />Tuition - Pre - School Local Fund revenue received from tuition charged for the pre- <br />kindergarten blended classes program. <br />Tuition - Regular School Local Fund revenue received from parents of students who <br />attend the CHCCS but live outside the district. The tuition rate <br />is set each year to match the county and district tax revenues. <br />Tuition - Summer School Local Fund revenue received from parents of students who <br />attend the High School Summer School Enrichment programs. <br />C -2 <br />
