Subsequently, the Board <br /> considered proposed amendments to the Educational Facilities Impact Fee <br /> Ordinance at its January 12, 1995 Work Session. The Board decided to present <br /> the several text amendments at public hearing on March 21, 1995.Also presented <br /> at the hearing was an amendment to Section 3, School Impact Fees Imposed on <br /> New Residential Dwelling Units, to increase the amount of the public school <br /> impact fee from$750 to$1,006 per residential dwelling unit. <br /> At the public hearing, a number of citizens spoke for and against the increase in <br /> the amount of the impact fee.At a Work Session held on March 30, the Board of <br /> Commissioners considered updating the Technical Report,including recalculation • <br /> of the amount of impact fees which could be charged.At its April 3, 1995 meeting, <br /> the Board of Commissioners directed staff to update the Technical Report and <br /> scheduled a public hearing on the proposed fee increase for May 25, 1995. <br /> A copy of the proposed public hearing notice is provided as an attachment. The <br /> updated Technical Report has been distributed separately.Approval of the notice <br /> will enable staff to advertise the public hearing May 10 and 17, 1995 as required <br /> by the N.C. General Statutes. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the notice of public hearing. <br />
