10 <br />1 Chair Jacobs said the mayors and town managers could be looped into the initial <br />2 process and told where they will be engaged. He said this will allow them to be part of the <br />3 communication. <br />4 Colleen Bridger said she wants to get this right. She said if this is passed as part of the <br />5 budget, then the next step is the advisory board, so that work can be done over the summer. <br />6 Commissioner Gordon asked if this overall board is going to select the zones. <br />7 Colleen Bridger said yes. She said the advisory board will hear presentations from each <br />8 of the neighborhoods as to why they should be picked, along with statistical information. She <br />9 said two will then be chosen, with the expectation that there will be one in the north and one in <br />10 the south. <br />11 Commissioner Gordon noted that zone six includes the Frank Porter Graham Child <br />12 Development Center. She said this might be a valuable resource. <br />13 Commissioner Price asked if there are plans to add other neighborhoods once the first <br />14 two are started. <br />15 Colleen Bridger said yes, but it will be at least a year or two after the first two <br />16 neighborhoods are started. <br />17 Chair Jacobs said this is an area that Commissioner Dorosin had a great interest in. He <br />18 said the Board looks forward to working with staff on this. <br />19 <br />20 4.
