<br />The Board of County Commissioners of Orange County met in regular session
<br />on idonday, Iovember 5, 1951, at 10 o'clock A. G1. in the Commissioners' Aoom at
<br />the Cmirthouse.

<br />The minutes of the October meetings were read and approved.
<br />Unon motion, duly seconded, end nos sad by a unanimous vote, the following
<br />road petitions vrere approved Tor Stabilizing and ordered sent to the State
<br />Highway and Public Works Commission for their consideration:
<br />Road in Hingham Township running from N, C. 54 to Kimesvillo-
<br />Carrboro ¢nd Chatham line, end knovm as the Orange Chapel and Glover
<br />Garden Church Rosd. Length of toed: 5.1 miles.
<br />P.oed in Cheeks Tovmshio tonal ng from Highway No. 70 to the
<br />County Hone Road, end kno!vn as the Btendard 011 Compeny-Sunoer
<br />Club Road. Length of road: O.l} miles.
<br />Rned in Che elcs Tovmshio running from the intersection of 523
<br />to the Cedar Grove-Eflend Road, end known as the Old Stage
<br />Road. Length of road: 3.3 miles.
<br />Road in Orange County leading from Hob Kirks' to the Old Cot tan
<br />Gin on fitebnne -Oaks Road and knocrn es the'Halmes Store Road.
<br />Length of road: 5 miles.
<br />Upon motion of Commissioner Efla nd, seconded by Commissioner Forrest, it
<br />was ordered that L. C. Davis be paid 530.00 for 50 young hens killed by dogs.
<br />Unon motion of Commissioner Forrest, duly seconded by Commissioner Eflend,
<br />end voted unanimously, that Orange County reline wish its water rights to a
<br />spring on the property of L. L. 1711 son, and that the County Attorney draw up
<br />en instrument releasing the County's rights to L. L, Yiilson. The cost for
<br />this service to be paid bg the Grantee.
<br />1rir. E. N. Kenton enneared end prota sted the completion of a rood running
<br />from fiighway IJo. 70-A, Yorth to the back of the A. "l. Kenton oronerty. The
<br />petition for this road was approved by the Board of Commissioners on Tune 12,
<br />1950. The State Highv.ey end Public 'fiorks Commis Sion has, since that time,
<br />approved this toed ¢nd built the Southern part, which 1dr. Ksnion states is
<br />ndequ¢te to take care of the people living in that community.

<br />Case Norker for the Blind, appeared. Miss Paulsen tal3ced on the basis for
<br />v:hich grants for the blind !•rare determined.
<br />Ltiss Strovrd asked that tho Sid to Blind grant of Bart Alexander 'Ailson
<br />be increased from X25.00 per month to S27.00 per month.
<br />Now therefore, nDe^ motion of Commissioner Forrest, seconded by Commis-
<br />sioner Etland, the above request was approved.

<br />Deputy She ri £f s' cars were inadequate for the operation of tho short wove
<br />PEHSOS.
<br />Novr therefore, upon motion of CommissZoner Eflend, duly seconded by Com-
<br />missioner Forrest, it was ordered that Orange County equip the cars of f/. R.
<br />P,obsrts and Albert Pende rgress crith heavy duty generators; also, to reimburse
<br />C erl Hurley for the heavy duty generator already installed in his car. These
<br />generators to remain the mope rty of Orange County.
<br />Unon motion of Commissioner Porra st, duly seconded by Commissioner Eflend,
<br />Graham and Eskridge, County Attorneys, are hereby authorized and directed to
<br />proceed with foreclosure on all property on erhich tax sales have been held for
<br />five ye¢rs or more.
<br />4pon motion of Commissioner Etland, duly seconded by Cammisg toner Forrest,
<br />H. L. fiiohler is hereby appointed Director of Civil Defense for Orange County,
<br />Nortl: Carol ire.
