B. The Personnel Department <br /> The Orange County Personnel Department is responsible for the administration of the <br /> equal employment opportunity/affirmative action program. <br /> 1. EEO Officer <br /> The Equal Employment Opportunity(EEO) Officer for this plan period is Mr. <br /> Tony N. Brown, Human Resources Analyst. The duties and responsibilities of the <br /> EEO Officer include: <br /> a. Development and submission of a written affirmative action plan. The plan is <br /> updated on a biennial basis, monitored on an on-going basis and evaluated at <br /> the end of each plan year. <br /> b. General coordination of programs and action steps established in the plan. <br /> c. Affirmative recruitment from all reasonably available sources to maximize the <br /> number of minority and female applicants from those available in the County's <br /> recruitment area. <br /> d. Review and follow up of hiring decisions with operating departments as to <br /> correct application of personnel policies including those related to equal <br /> employment opportunity and affirmative action. <br /> e. Investigation of applicant discrimination complaints and attempts to resolve <br /> these. <br /> f. In conjunction with the Data Processing Department, planning and developing <br /> data systems to provide statistical information concerning personnel <br /> transactions including applicants, hires, promotions and terminations. <br /> g. Collection, analysis and publication/dissemination of statistical data called for <br /> in the plan. <br /> h. Preparation of the EEO-4 Report to the Equal Employment Opportunity <br /> Commission. <br /> i. Assistance to County department heads, supervisors, or other appropriate <br /> personnel who need technical advice or administrative support in meeting their <br /> responsibilities under applicable equal employment opportunity laws and <br /> regulations, and under this plan. <br /> -5- <br />
