At their April 3, 1995 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved a 10-point plan
establishing future action on Impact Fees and the fee structure. One point of this plan directs Staff to
update the Technical Report, including development of a sliding scale of Impact Fees and differentiation
of fees between the two school districts based on school capital needs. To accomplish this work, the
Board approved employing two graduate student interns during the May-July period to collect the data
needed to develop a sliding scale fee system. The total cost for employing two interns would be
approximately$9,000. For Fiscal Year 1994-95, $6,000 is to be appropriated from the Board of
Commissioners'Contingency Account to the Planning Department. The remaining$3,000 will be
included in the Manager's Recommended Fiscal Year 1995-96 Budget. The attached budget amendment
appropriates these funds from the Contingency Account to the Planning Department.
Recommendation
The Manager recommends that the Board of Commissioners approve the attached budget ordinance amendment.
