The Orange Soil and Water Conservation District has received an allocation of$2,000 from the North <br /> Carolina Department of Environment,Health and Natural Resources. These monies will be used to <br /> purchase equipment and furnishings for use by the District. This allocation is reflected on page 3, block <br /> 1 of this budget amendment. <br /> Health Department <br /> 2. At their March 21, 1995 meeting,the Board of County Commissioners approved a Smart Start grant <br /> award for the County's Dental Health program. This grant, totalling$32,890,will enable the Health <br /> Department and the UNC School of Dentistry to provide dental screening, education,treatment planning, <br /> prophylaxis, and referral for approximately 1,500 children ages 0 to 5. The attached "Smart Start Dental <br /> Health" grant project ordinance on page 4 of this budget amendment reflects the receipt of these funds. <br /> Orange Public Transportation (OP7) <br /> 3. Orange Public Transportation(OPT)has received State funds to purchase two mobile radio units for <br /> recently purchased vehicles. No additional County money is required for the receipt of these monies. <br /> Block#3 on page 3 reflects the receipt of$2,040 for this purpose. <br />
