Amends GS <br /> 163-140 to eliminate straight ticket voting on ballots for US Senator, US House of Representatives, State offices, <br /> or county offices, Deletes provision that generally requires the general election for State House and State Senate <br /> seats to be on ballots separate from ballots containing non-legislative contests. Deletes language allowing <br /> separate ballots for single-seat and multi-seat races (House, Senate,and superior court judge seats) and deletes <br /> provision requiring separate ballots in multi-seat races where mechanical voting machines are not used. Deletes <br /> provision that prohibits combining ballot for presidential electors with other ballots. Makes conforming changes to <br /> GS 163-170.
