The work of both the commission for women and the human relations
commission are especially important to making Orange County a good place for
everyone to live. For the past two months I have been working with the commission for
women on planning the Orange County Women's Agenda Assembly and I have enjoyed
the experience. Cutler Andrews, a current commission member and friend, heard about
my work on the agenda assembly and suggested that I join the commission for women.
It is extremely important important for young people like me to be involved at the local
level, where a citizen can have the greatest impact. My work and volunteer experiences,
my commitment to social justice and equality and my interest in local government and
civic engagement would significantly benefit the work of either of the commissions for
which I am applying. I appreciate the opportuntity to volunteer for Orange County and
look forward to hearing from someone soon..
STAFF COMMENTS: Originally applied for Commission for Women and Human
Relations Commission 9/5/2006.
ADDRESS VERIFICATION: 109 Hampton Court is in Chapel Hill city limits in Orange
County.
This application was current on: 8/30/2006 4:05:09 PM Date Printed: 6/13/2008
