He said this is cued to be <br /> considered in the short session. <br /> Commissioner Gordon asked if this means students can enroll in any school district. <br /> James Barrett said yes, if there was space. <br /> Debbie Piscitelli said students get to go where they want to go and schools get state <br /> funds but not local money. She said another issue is the virtual charter schools, which are <br /> requesting the same per pupil funding. <br /> Chair Bedford said this morning the school board association asked that a survey be <br /> done regarding the abolishment of common core. She said she hopes that all of the school <br /> board members did the survey. <br /> Chair Jacobs said he just read that Indiana was the first state to adopt common core <br /> and the first state to drop out. <br /> Chair Bedford recognized Steve Halkiotis.
