20
1 Sincerely,
2 Virginia Purcell
3
4
5 From: Jessica Sherrieb
6 Phone Number: 9194380623
7 Message:
8 I am writing to respectfully ask that the Commissioners fully fund the CHCCS schools. I am a
9 parent of two children in CHCCS schools and a rising Kindergartner. My family moved to Chapel
10 Hill in part for the excellent schools and we are in favor of increased taxes to pay for them.
11 Thank you for your time.
12 Sincerely,
13 Jessica Sherrieb
14
15
16 From: Marissa Elk
17 Phone Number: 919-904-4355
18 Message:
19 Dear County Commissioners,
20
21 I am writing to express my wholehearted support of the proposed budget, including a tax
22 increase as needed to fully fund the CHCCS budget. As the mother of 2 school-age and 1
23 soon-to-be school age child, I can tell you that we moved here a little over a year ago based
24 largely on the strength of the school system. Despite having family in Raleigh, we chose to buy
25 a house in Chapel Hill so that our children could benefit from what we feel is a superior public
26 school education. Just as we try to shop at Chapel Hill businesses and attend local activities,
27 we are fully supportive of the school system and would happily pay even more in taxes than we
28 already do to maintain as high a level of quality as possible in the school system.
29 I ask you as strongly as possible to approve the budget as proposed.
30
31 Regards,
32 Marissa Elk
33
34
35 From: Laura Morgan
36 Phone Number: 9196244946
37 Message:
38 Dear County Commissioners,
39 i am writing as an advocate of our schools and our county. Please look carefully at this budget
40 and fully fund our schools. It appears it is time for a tax increase - but only to fund our schools.
41 There is nothing more important than our schools and children.
42
43 Thank you for your consideration.
44 Laura Morgan
45
46
47 From: Emily Moseley
48 Phone Number: 919-932-8507
49 Message:
50 Dear Commissioners: As you know, recent state budget cuts have put our schools in the
51 terrible position of being underfunded, even with just continuation budgets. The CHCCS and
