Donna Baker said this can be discussed with staff over the summer. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Commissioner Gordon noted that the reason for her vote on Rob English is that this was <br /> 25 brought up at the last minute. <br /> 26 Commissioner McKee said he does not question Rob English's qualifications, but he <br /> 27 questions making last minute appointments. <br /> 28 Commissioner Dorosin questioned what the alternative is to the last minute appointment <br /> 29 if any appointment not recommended by the advisory board is last minute unless a two stage <br /> 30 process is proposed. <br /> 31 Commissioner McKee said he would not mind nominating now and voting at the next <br /> 32 meeting. He said his other concern was the amount of time the applicant has already served. <br /> 33 He feels most comfortable having time to look at an applicant. <br /> 34 Commissioner Price said she does not understand why the Board members think this is <br /> 35 last minute since the packet has been available for days. <br /> 36 Chair Jacobs agreed with Commissioner Dorosin and Commissioner Price, but he <br /> 37 respects Commissioner McKee's comments. He suggested making nominations, and if <br /> 38 seconded these will be placed on the consent agenda for the next meeting. He said this will be <br /> 39 the policy moving forward, and it can be listed on the next consent agenda as an adaptation to <br /> 40 the Board's existing policies. <br /> 41 Commissioner Gordon said she would like to have the option to vote on these changes <br /> 42 after the Board has further discussed the process. <br /> 43 Chair Jacobs said the spirit of this is to broaden the pool of applicants, while not <br /> 44 delaying too long before making a decision. He said if it doesn't work, it can be re-visited. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 12. Board Comments <br /> 47 Commissioner Pelissier said that two regional routes were approved at the last TTA <br /> 48 board meeting as part of the half cent sales tax. She said service will start soon, and these <br /> 49 routes are between Chapel Hill and Duke/downtown, and the other goes from Chapel Hill to <br /> 50 Southpoint. She said the Hillsborough/Mebane/Duke Route has not been approved yet. She <br />
