Bid Award — Hook Lift Truck for Solid Waste <br /> 34 The Board considered awarding a bid to Freightliner of Austin, 1701 Smith Road, Austin, <br /> 35 TX for a Hook Lift Truck at a delivered cost of$193,225 for the Sanitation Division of the Solid <br /> 36 Waste Management Department. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Commissioner Gordon asked for clarification on why this truck should be purchased at <br /> 39 this time and how the purchase will affect the general fund. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 The following email from Commissioner Gordon regarding questions/concerns on this <br /> 42 item is included for the record: <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Item 6-j - Bid Award - Hook-Lift Truck for Solid Waste <br /> 45 According to the agenda abstract, this truck was originally scheduled for replacement in 2014- <br /> 46 15 but the Solid Waste Fund has available funds in the current fiscal year operating budget. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 Please explain why this truck purchase should be made this fiscal year. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 STAFF RESPONSE: <br />
