D. AMENDMENT IMPLICATIONS <br />The amendments are in response to concerns related to the processing of SUP <br />applications, specifically a lack of advance notification to local property owners /residents <br />of the project. These amendments are designed to promote additional notification of a <br />SUP project in advance of a scheduled public hearing and provide an opportunity for <br />local residents to comment on a project as well as receive an explanation on the SUP <br />review process. <br />The amendment will require staff to complete more work in a truncated timeframe and, <br />potentially, reduce the overall review time for a given project. As previously indicated, <br />staff plans to accommodate the NIM within the current review process. There is, <br />however, a distinct possibility review timeframes for SUP applications will be altered by, <br />a minimum, of 30 days. <br />E.
