Items typically included in the CIP are <br /> construction, refurbishment, or purchases of buildings; land acquisition <br /> or improvement; and major equipment acquisition and financing. The CIP <br /> process offers the opportunity for periodic, scheduled review of long- <br /> term capital needs, and permits timely acquisition and phased financing <br /> of major assets. <br /> Staff will make a brief report on significant aspects of the proposed <br /> 1995-2000 CIP and respond to any Commissioner comments or questions. No <br /> decisions are required at this time, as a public hearing is scheduled for <br /> March 21 , 1995, and a CIP worksession is planned for March 30, 1995. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> The Manager recommends that the Board receive this report for information <br /> only at this time. <br />
