Background Project Ordinances-Housing and Community Development 1. At the February 21, 1995 meeting,the Board of County Commissioners approved a request from Habitat for Humanity to provide assistance with the construction of a gravel road that will serve a five house Habitat development in the Perry Hills Subdivision in Cheeks Township. The Board of Commissioners approved$13,000 for this purpose. The Board also approved$3,000 requested by Habitat for Humanity to match the amounts paid for school impact fees on four new houses in 1994. The County has reserved funds from the sale of a County owned piece of property in Mebane last year ($14,080). These funds and funds remaining from the Chestnut Oaks Subdivision paving project ($13,966), are combined and appropriated in the attached proposed Affordable Housing Project Ordinance in the Housing and Community Development Fund(see page 4 of this abstract). 2. At the last meeting,the Board of County Commissioners approved a change order for the Magnolia Place Housing Development program. The additional funding required, $18,833,will be paid by Orange Community Housing Corporation. The proposed project ordinance for Magnolia Place budgets these additional funds(see page 5 of this abstract.).
