Passmore, Director <br /> ( 1) Annual Resolution statement TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> (2) Certifications/Assurances Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> statement Chapel Hill - 967-9251 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> Extension 2000 <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To authorize the annual resolution to apply for <br /> Federal Transit Act (FTA) , Section 18 capital and <br /> administrative funding as well as enter into an <br /> agreement with the North Carolina Department of <br /> Transportation for FY95-96. <br /> BACKGROUND: Orange County Commissioners approved on January 22, <br /> 1991 an updated Transportation Development Plan <br /> (TDP) . The approved plan makes the County eligible <br /> for federal and state funding of vehicles, equipment <br /> and administration requested in the document over a <br /> four year period. In April-May, 1995 Orange County <br /> will need to approve a new updated TDP being prepared <br /> by Ecosometrics, Inc. <br /> The FY95-96 annual Section 18 application is for <br /> $ 279,870 which includes $ 195,909 federal, $ 50,548 <br /> state and $ 33,413 local matching funds. The funds <br /> will purchase four replacement vehicles- a standard <br /> van conversion with lift, two 24 passenger van <br /> cutaways with lifts and a standard 20 passenger van <br /> cutaway. In addition, Orange County's administrative <br /> funds will support the overall C.A.T. Program and <br /> continue to emphasize general public ridership. <br /> The application has been reviewed and approved by <br /> the Orange County Human Services Transportation <br /> Advisory Board on January 24, 1995. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Manager recommends approval and Chair to sign the <br /> Resolution to apply for Federal Transit Act <br /> Section 18 funds for administration and capital <br /> and the FY 95-96 NCDOT agreement. <br /> FN:ABS95#10.Doc <br />
