Department of Commerce has announced the <br /> availability of Community Development Grant funds for Community <br /> Revitalization projects. A public hearing was held on December 20, 1994 <br /> to receive citizen comments prior to developing a grant application. <br /> There were no comments received, therefore, the staff recommended <br /> preparing a Scattered Site Housing Rehabilitation Application in order <br /> address some of the housing repair needs of citizens residing in various <br /> areas of the County. <br /> Approximately, sixteen houses have been identified for housing repair. <br /> The attached application summary provides more details about each <br /> identified dwelling. The total cost is anticipated at approximately <br /> $300,000. <br /> A second public hearing is required after the grant application is <br /> prepared in order to receive additional comments prior to submission. <br /> Advertisements of this hearing have been placed in local newspapers. The <br /> application document is due February 15, 1995. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> The Manager recommends the following: <br /> 1. Receive citizen comments as additional information. <br /> 2. Approve the resolution authorizing submission of the CDBG Application <br /> by February 15, 1995 and authorize the Chair to sign the application <br /> document on behalf of the Board upon approval by the County Attorney. <br />
