10
1995 CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT GRANT APPLICATION
State Historic Preservation Office
Division of Archives and History
North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources
Deadline: January 31, 1995
INTRODUCTION
Please use one or more of the attached application forms for proposed projects
funded by 1995 Certified Local Government (CLG) grants. Different forms should
be used for (1) Survey and Planning projects, and (2) Predevelopment and
Development projects. Survey and planning activities include archaeological and
architectural inventories, nominations to the National Register of Historic Places,
and preparation of historic preservation plans; whereas predevelopment and
development projects involve architectural/engineering studies, archaeological
excavations (leading to site development), or the rehabilitation of structures listed
in the National Register. Funds for predevelopment/development activities will be
limited. Priority for available funding (estimated at $70,000) will be given to
projects involving completion of the statewide architectural and archaeological
surveys.
After review by the Historic Preservation Office, your proposed project(s) may be
included in the 1995 Application for Federal Assistance to the National Park
Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. If federal assistance becomes available,
you may be asked to submit additional information.
North Carolina's historic preservation program receives federal financial assistance
for identification and preservation of historic properties. Under Title V1 of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the U.S.
Department of the Interior prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color,
creed, national origin, sex, religion, age, or handicap in its federally-assisted
programs. If you believe you have been discriminated against in any program,
activity, or facility, as described above, or if you desire further information, please
write to: Office for Equal Opportunity, U.S. Department of the Interior,
Washington, DC 20240.
All federal grant applications include an Equal Opportunity Statement form which
must be completed and returned with the application. Applications without this
form will not be considered for funding.
