Upon receipt,the <br /> revenue is deposited Into the Solid Waste Management Department's enterprise fund which is <br /> separate and distinct from the County's general fund. In general,the disposal tax revenues <br /> support all of departmental operations which are solely devoted to managing solid waste and <br /> recyclable material collected and managed by the County. Last fiscal year that amount was <br /> $35,769. <br /> Orange County Solid Waste Management operates recycling services at all local government <br /> building and parks in Orange County as well as the Towns of Carrboro,Chapel Hill and <br /> Hillsborough. The County also collects recyclables from Orange Water and Sewer Authority <br /> (OWASA),a local,publicly-owned water and wastewater utility,as well as various other public <br /> locations such as the Town of Chapel Hill's Park and Ride jots. Collection from these sites is <br /> typically bl-weekly and typically includes single stream(bottles,cans, paper); plastic cups and <br /> tubs#2,IN and#5;and corrugated cardboard. <br /> Orange County 2014 CWRAR Proposal Page 1 <br />
