22., Stabilization Stone for Pavement Cuts. The stone used in stabilizing driveways and <br /> pavement cuts shall conform to the requirements of Aggregate Base Course as described in the ' <br /> N.C. State Highway Commission's "Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures", July, <br /> 2006(as amended). <br /> 23. Stabilization Stone for Ditches. The stone used in stabilizing ditch bottoms prior to the ' <br /> Installation of pipe in the said ditch, shall conform to the requirements of Size#67 clean stone <br /> as described in the N.C. State Highway Commission's "Standard Specifications for Roads and <br /> Structures",July, 2006 (as amended). ' <br /> Asphalt Pavement. Asphalt pavement shall be Asphalt Concrete Surface Course, Type <br /> SF 9.5A in conformance with N.C. State Highway Commission's "Standard Specifications for ' <br /> Roads and Structures", July, 2006 (as amended). Any tack coat used shall conform to those <br /> same standards. <br /> 25. Small Size Pipe. Small size of (2" to 4") pipe will be as follows: 3" or 4" pipe shall be ' <br /> D.I.P., Class 50 minimum. 2"pipe shall be Type"K", soft copper. <br /> 26. Air Release Valve. Air release valves shall be as manufactured by G.A. Industries, Clow ' <br /> Corporation, or equal, of size, number, and location as shown on the Drawings depending on <br /> the type of service. <br /> 27. Pavement placement. ' <br /> a. Wherever asphalt type pavement has been ordered by the Engineer or the Owner to be <br /> cut and replaced, it shall be replaced with 6"Type 1-1 90B, and 1"thick asphalt concrete surface <br /> course in conformance with N.C. State Highway Commission's "Standard Specifications for ' <br /> Roads and Structures".. July, 2006 (as amended). Any tack coat used shall conform to same <br /> standards. <br /> b. Wherever concrete type pavement has been ordered by the Engineer or Owner to be cut ' <br /> and replaced, it shall be replaced with Class A concrete poured 8"thick. <br /> 28. Steel Encasement Pipe. Wherever a line must be encased under a highway or railway, it ' <br /> must be encased in a steel pipe that has been manufactured in conformance with the standards <br /> of AWWA C-202. Joints, coatings, and method of installation shall be in conformance with the <br /> requirements of the N.C. State Highway Commission. In general, the encasement pipe will be , <br /> installed by boring with an auger so as not to displace material on the outside of the casing. <br /> The minimum wall thickness for 12"and 14"diameter steel pipe shall be 0.1875". The minimum <br /> wall thickness for 16", M', 2V, and 24"diameter steel pipe shall be 0.2500". The minimum wall <br /> thickness for 30"diameter pipe shall be 0.312"and for 36!'0.375". <br /> 29. Carder Pige in Encasement. Wherever a water line or sewer line must be encased under <br /> a highway,it shall be of ductile iron as hereinbefore specified. , <br /> 30. Rip Rap. Rip Rap shall be Class I Rip Rap quarry stone as described in Section 942 of <br /> the N.C. State Highway Commission's "Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures," <br /> January 1, 2002(as amended). ' <br /> 31. PVC Gravity Sewer Pipe. PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride)Gravity Sewer pipe shall be made of <br /> PVC plastic conforming to ASTM D-3034 SDR35. Rubber gaskets shall comply in all respects ' <br /> with the physical requirements specked in ASTM D-3212. The bell shall be an integral part of <br /> MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS MS-6 , <br /> 10/15/09 <br />
