Rock Excavation (Bid Item No. 22) <br /> The quantity of Rock Excavation to be paid for will be the actual cubic yards, to <br /> ' the nearest 1/10 cubic yard of accepted rock excavation which meets the <br /> specification's definition of rock excavation. Volume of rock excavated shall be <br /> verified in the field by the Engineer. <br /> The quantity of Rock Excavation will be paid for at the contract unit price for each <br /> cubic yard, complete including but not limited to all blasting, hammering, etc., for <br /> ' removal, plus excavation, hauling, disposal, and all other related construction. <br /> Only rock excavation that is verified by the Engineer in these locations will be <br /> paid at the contract unit price under this item. <br /> Compact Ductile Iron Fittings (Bid Item No. 23) <br /> ' This item of work shall include furnishing and installing compact ductile iron <br /> fittings of the type and size shown on the Plans. All fittings shall be compact <br /> ' ductile iron type as specified and shall include all accessories. The unit price bid <br /> shall include cost for excavation, materials, installation including concrete thrust <br /> blocks, deadmen as shown on the plans, backfill and compaction, and site <br /> ' restoration. Fittings shall be paid for on a weight basis for the actual number of <br /> pounds installed. The contractor shall compute the number of pounds installed <br /> based upon the weight of each fitting. Weight basis shall be manufacturers <br /> ' standard published information for weight of compact fittings. Weights shall be <br /> computed for each fitting excluding accessories. <br /> ' Connection to Existing Water Line (Bid Item No. 24) <br /> All work covered by this section will be paid for at the contract lump sum price for <br /> the connection of the new water line to an existing water line as shown on the <br /> ' contract drawings. Price and payment shall constitute full compensation for <br /> furnishing all equipment, tools, labor and materials to complete the work as <br /> ' specified, including the field location of the existing water line, existing valves as <br /> required, connection of new piping and fittings to the existing water line, all <br /> related testing, coordination with the owner of the existing water line, and the <br /> verification and coordination of pipe and valve locations with the Engineer. <br /> END OF SECTION <br /> ' Rev.4/29/14 PROJECT#13.01126 01500-Page 9 <br />
