Standard Manhole Installation (Bid Item No. 8) <br /> The quantity of Manholes to be paid for will be the actual number of manholes, <br /> ' complete with all appurtenances, installed and accepted. Quantities of manholes <br /> installed in accordance with the requirements of this section shall be verified in <br /> the field by the Engineer. Drop manholes and manholes constructed over <br /> existing lines will be counted separately from standard manholes. All fittings <br /> necessary for drop manholes per details shall be included in that unit price. <br /> The quantity of Manholes will be paid for at the contract unit price for each <br /> manhole, complete including but not limited to all foundation preparation, <br /> installation, backfill and compaction, concrete, pipe connections (including drop <br /> ' connections where applicable), boots, construction of invert, installation of frame <br /> and lid (watertight or standard), landscaping, testing, and all related construction <br /> to complete the work as specified. <br /> ' The Contractor agrees that the Owner will retain ten percent (10%) of the per <br /> manhole price included in this item until the work area has been adequately <br /> ' restored, and an additional ten percent (10%) of the per manhole price included <br /> in this item until the work has satisfactorily passed all required testing. Contractor <br /> further agrees that depths of manholes measured for payment shall be based on <br /> ' the construction plans prepared by the Engineer, and not post construction field <br /> conditions. Should the Contractor dispute depths shown by the Engineer, those <br /> disputes shall be submitted in writing prior to work in the area in question. All <br /> ' information gathered shall be accomplished at the sole cost of the Contractor, <br /> and no additional time will be given as a result of a successful Contractor <br /> dispute. <br /> ' Connection to Existing Manhole (Bid Item No. 9) <br /> All work covered by this section will be paid for at the contract lump sum price for <br /> the connection of the new sanitary sewer line to an existing manhole. Price and <br /> ' payment shall constitute full compensation for furnishing all equipment, tools, <br /> labor and materials to complete the work as specified, including the field location <br /> of the existing manhole, bypass pumping as required, connection of new piping <br /> ' to the existing manhole, cutting and plugging of any existing sewer connections <br /> to be abandoned, and the verification and coordination of pipe invert elevations <br /> with the Engineer. <br /> ' Rev.4129114 PROJECT#13.01126 01500-Page 5 <br />
