SDR 35 PVC Gravity Sewer Line Installation (item No. 2) <br /> Measurement of the sewer line will be the actual number of linear feet of sanitary <br /> sewer line by pipe type, including Class 1 washed, quarry stone embedment <br /> material, which has been properly incorporated into the completed and accepted <br /> work. Quantities of pipe shall be verified in the field by the Engineer. Pipe <br /> length shall be measured by horizontal linear feet in place measured along the <br /> pipe center line with no deduction for wyes or tees. Horizontal measurements <br /> through manholes shall be excluded. <br /> The quantity of Sanitary Sewer line will be paid for at the contract unit price for <br /> each type and size of pipe as shown in the Bid Schedule. The Contractor agrees <br /> that the Owner will retain ten percent (10%) of the linear foot price for pipe <br /> included in this item until the work area has been adequately restored, and an <br /> additional ten percent (10%) of the linear foot price for pipe included in this item <br /> until the work has satisfactorily passed all required testing. Contractor further <br /> agrees that depths of sewers measured for payment shall be based on the <br /> construction plans prepared by the Engineer, and not post construction field <br /> conditions. Should the Contractor dispute depths shown by the Engineer, those <br /> disputes shall be submitted in writing prior to work in the area in question. All <br /> information gathered shall be accomplished at the sole cost of the Contractor, <br /> and no additional time will be given as a result of a successful Contractor <br /> dispute. Price and payment shall constitute full compensation for furnishing all <br /> equipment, tools, labor and materials to complete the work as specified, <br /> including but not limited to the following items: <br /> a. Site Preparation (including clearing and grubbing) <br /> b. Removal and Storage of Topsoil <br /> c. Location of Existing Utilities <br /> d. Common Excavation, and Trench Backfilling and Compaction <br /> e. Sheeting, Shoring, and Bracing <br /> f. Dewatering of Excavated Areas <br /> g. Waste Material Disposal <br /> h. Pipe Installation and Applicable Testing <br /> i. Restoration of Surfaces (including structures, landscaping, etc.) <br /> j. Grassing (Including mulch) <br /> k.
