Facility Infrastructure <br /> ' Improvements will be received by Orange County at 2:00 pm local time May 29, 2014 at Room <br /> 004, Lower Level of the Orange County West Campus Office Building located at 131 West <br /> Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278. At said place and time, all Bids that have been duly <br /> ' received, will be publicly opened and read aloud. <br /> THE PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF the construction of approximately 2,100 linear feet <br /> of 12-inch PVC gravity sewer line to the proposed Morinaga America Foods, Inc. site and the <br /> construction of approximately 5,500 linear feet of 12-inch and 16-inch ductile iron water line in <br /> eastern Orange County along Ben Wilson Parkway(SR 1140) and along the proposed road extension <br /> ' of Ben Wilson Parkway to the proposed Morinaga America Foods, Inc. site complete with manholes, <br /> clearing,bore and jack encasement,restoration, fire hydrants, gate valves and related appurtenances. <br /> A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 pm local time May 12, 2014 at Room 004, Lower Level <br /> of the Orange County West Campus Office Building located at 131 West Margaret Lane, <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278. Interested parties are invited to attend this meeting to review the plans, <br /> ' ask for additional information or clarification, and visit the project site. <br /> The Contract Documents for the project may be examined at the following locations: <br /> McGill Associates, PA (Hickory,North Carolina) <br /> Orange County Planning Office(131 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough,North Carolina) <br /> ' Associated General Contractors (www.cagc.org) <br /> F. Dodge/McGraw Hill Construction (www.construction.com/dodge) <br /> Contract Documents are available for purchase on request from the Owner's Engineer, McGill <br /> Associates, PA located at 1240 19th Street Lane NW, Hickory,North Carolina 28601 during normal <br /> business hours, Monday through Friday. Contract Documents can be obtained for a non-refundable <br /> ' cost of $150.00 per set. No partial sets of plans and specifications can be purchased. Additional <br /> information regarding the bidding of this project can be found at www.mcgillbidline.com. <br /> Each bid shall be accompanied with a cash deposit or certified check drawn on a bank or trust <br /> company insured by the FDIC or a Bid Bond prepared on the form of Bid Bond contained in the <br /> Contract Documents or a Surety Company's standard form and properly executed by a corporate <br /> ' surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds. The amount of the bid bond <br /> shall be equal to five(5%) percent of the total of the bid. <br /> ' Only bids from qualified bidders will be accepted. In order to be a qualified bidder for this project <br /> each bidder shall obtain a copy of Contract Documents from the Owner's Engineer, McGill <br /> Associates, PA. Bidders must comply with the requirements of the State of North Carolina and be <br /> ' appropriately licensed as a Contractor as provided in General Statutes Chapter 87. <br /> Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Contract <br />' Documents, including any Addenda, obtained from any other source. Addenda will be sent <br /> electronically to all plan holders. Each Bidder shall be responsible for the review of all addenda for <br /> the project and shall acknowledge the addenda on the bid form. <br /> AB-1 <br />
