ADDENDUM NO. 2 <br /> TO <br /> ' MORINAGA AMERICA FOODS,INC.,FACILITY INFRASTRUCTURE <br /> IMPROVEMENTS <br /> ORANGE COUNTY,NORTH CAROLINA <br /> This Addendum No. 2 is issued this 23rd day of May 2014 to all parties who hold a set of <br /> Bidding Documents for the project entitled "Morinaga America Foods, Inc., Facility <br /> Infrastructure Improvements, Orange County, North Carolina". This Addendum No. 2 shall <br /> ' become part of the Contract Documents and its receipt acknowledged on the Bidding Documents <br /> at the time of bidding. <br /> ' REMINDERS <br /> ' 1. Bidders should refer to the McGill Associates bid line for current plan holders' lists <br /> and other pertinent information regarding the bid. The website address is <br /> www.mcgillbidline.com. <br /> ' 2. The bid opening date is scheduled for 2:00 pm local time on May 29, 2014 in Room <br /> 004, Lower Level of the Orange County West Campus Office Building, 131 West <br /> ' Margaret Lane, Hillsborough,North Carolina 27278. <br /> ' CLARIFICATIONS <br /> 1. Trench width measured for rock excavation shall be based on a maximum trench width of <br /> ' 5-feet. <br /> 2. Excavator tree grinding systems shall be an allowable means of clearing. When using <br />' such equipment, Contractor shall take care not to damage existing structures or allow <br /> grinding debris to enter the adjacent stream. Contractor shall be responsible for any and <br /> all damage caused due to the construction. However, all stumps and root mats that are <br />' disturbed shall be grubbed and removed from the project site. Additionally, mulch <br /> resulting from tree grinding will not be allowed as a suitable permanent ground cover <br /> within cleared areas. All cleared areas shall be seeded per the plans and specifications. <br />' 3. The Contractor will not be required to clear the entire easement width along the project <br /> route, but will need to clear a sufficient area for construction. During clean-up, the <br />' contractor shall leave no soil materials placed against trees to remain. <br /> 4. The Combination Air Release/Vacuum Valve detail included on the construction plans <br /> calls for the air valve to be connected to the water line with brass fittings.
