He is Co-founder of the Sacrificial Poets, a youth organization that works to create safe spaces for young people to empower themselves, through the use of the spoken and written word. He has had the honor of performing and working in the Bay Area, California with the Mosaic Project, teaching 4th and 5th grade youth peace-making, diversity,and conflict resolution for the past 2 years. Lately, he has had the privilege of performing several Local and National music festivals including Shakori Hills, Gnarnia and Bonnarroo. In a recent move back to the South he has become the Youth Outreach Director of Sacrificial Poets where he is helping to sustain and develop a culture of community,gratitude and acceptance. In a world that is constantly living in fear and stereotypes, CJ believes in breaking silence in order to reclaim, remember and reshape ourselves and our culture. Career Objective: To use the skills I have acquired as an artist to inspire youth to use their voices to transform their communities through the spoken word, love and conversation.
