ti <br /> The ArtsCenter <br /> Residency Planning Steps: <br /> 1) As a grade level, choose the School Show you would like to attend (from poster). <br /> The content of your residency will be based upon this performance. Also, please keep <br /> in mind how you could involve parents in the experience. (Ex. Parent night, parent <br /> sharing, etc.) <br /> 2) As a grade level, choose the curriculum content area and art form you would like <br /> to see covered during the residency. (See examples of past residencies on back.) <br /> Examples of art forms to choose from include writing (poetry, creative writing, etc.), <br /> visual art (drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, etc.), music, drama/creative <br /> movement, and dance. Please note you are not limited to these art forms. <br /> You may choose specific competency goals and/or objectives in any of the following <br /> areas: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science <br /> 3) Fill out the Field Trip and Residency Request Form as a grade level, and turn it <br /> into your principal by Friday, September 6. Tracy Thomas will pick up the forms <br /> from the principal on Monday, September 9. <br /> 4) You will be notified in mid to late September to confirm the School Show you <br /> will attend. (The ArtsCenter's School & Family Performances Coordinator will <br /> follow up with you with field trip details as the date approaches.) <br /> 5) Planning meeting will take place with classroom teachers (as a grade level) and the <br /> assigned teaching artist (approximately one month prior to the start of the residency). <br /> 6) Residency will unfold over five days (not necessarily consecutive). The teaching <br /> artist will spend one hour in each classroom per day. <br /> 7) Evaluation meeting will take place with classroom teachers (as a grade level) and <br /> the assigned teaching artist. <br /> 8) Classroom teachers will administer student evaluations of residency and <br /> complete teacher evaluations (provided by The ArtsCenter).
