afro <br /> V �t <br /> Jean Cerasani — Textile Artist <br /> Jean Cerasani studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, and at L'Academia in Venice, <br /> Italy. She began fabric design while at the School of Batik in NYC in 1969. She has <br /> worked as an interior designer and has several installations of her work in businesses <br /> and homes. She has designed and executed costumes for theater and dance and has <br /> created art-to-wear garments.dean moved here from Miami, where she taught for <br /> many years. Primarily a fabric dyer, she also works in watercolor, egg tempera, clay <br /> and collaged box constructions. <br /> In addition to Arts in Education residencies through The ArtsCenter, she has taught <br /> locally at Afterschool Arts Immersion (ArtsCenter); Children's Art Workshops at Schools <br /> in Alamance County, NC; John C. Campbell Folk School, Brasstown, NC; and Summer <br /> Camps at Carolina Friends School in Durham NC <br /> /am who l am most completely through my art. My life experiences and pleasures are <br /> translated through my work as an artist. While / work, l immerse myself in realms <br /> where l find balance and satisfaction.
