FRANK:inFocus 2015, 4'd Annual Triangle Photo Consortium In conjunction with our Community Outreach mission,FRANK gallery requests funding from the Arts Commission to support our Educational Outreach programs. With past grant support from OCAC,we have now formed a Triangle based photo consortium with our focus on Orange County. FRANK:inFocus,our first annual 2012 fall photo festival brought together over 15 salons,lectures,and exhibition venues throughout Orange County and the Triangle with over$10,000 combined in-kind and cash support.Last year,with seed funding from OCAC,we doubled that with in-kind support from museums,universities,art centers,and galleries to create the 2013 North Carolina Museum of Art Photography Consortium. Our gallery will produce the centerpiece exhibition,FRANK:inFocus; Inspired by the Lens in September 2014. Funds from the 2012-2013 fall OCAC grant FRANK:inFocus supported our featured photography exhibition and showcased the work of FRANK artists and photographers with panel discussions on lens-based art at the Ackland Museum. Our community partners co-hosted salons during the Triangle wide NCMA Photography Consortium that FRANK pioneered. We attribute the sustainability of this photography program to seed funding support from OCAC,Downtown Partnerships,and Arts and Innovation grants,and foresaw its future to be a continued and more comprehensive consortium bringing together a diverse population of lens-based artists in Orange County and the Triangle with exhibitions,workshops,art salons,seminars,and discussion forums. Our 2013 brochure produced with the North Carolina Museum of Art design department is included in this report. In 2014,we have expanded to include over 18 participants with our Triangle universities,photo programs,galleries,and museums.This year we co-ordinating the administrative duties with Frank Konhaus,an art collector and director of an artist-in- residency program called Cassihaus.To date we have collected over$4500 in cash contributions alone for 2014 Triangle Photo Consortium in matching grant support, including funding from the Ackland Art Museum,UNC Art Department,Light+Design Gallery,Framers Corner,Daylight Magazine and Gallery in Chapel Hill,Hillsborough, and Carrboro; North Carolina Museum of Art,Contemporary Art Museum,and Flanders Gallery in Raleigh; Durahm Art Guild,Through This Lens Gallery,and Nasher Museum in Durham.
