These <br />projects are in various stages of progress, from conceptual design and master planning to <br />construction. Staff has developed this memo to give a current progress update on these projects <br />and highlight upcoming project milestones. <br />BUCKHORN - MEBANE PHASE 2 UTILITIES <br />This project is currently under construction and is approximately 85% complete. A portion of <br />water line along Washington Street in the Buckhorn community associated with this project has <br />already been certified and is in use. The 18" gravity sewer portion of this project has been <br />completed and is expected to be certified in the next few weeks. This line runs north of Bowman <br />Road between Rock Quarry Road and Mebane's Regional Pump Station. This is also the sewer <br />line to which the new Morinaga Plant will connect. The entire project is expected to be <br />completed by the end of August 2014, with final closeout by the end of September 2014. <br />MCGOWAN CREEK INTERCEPTOR <br />This project is an improvement to the Efland sewer system. It is currently under construction <br />and is approximately 85% complete. The contractor is expected to complete all pipe Laying by <br />mid -July, at which point they will begin decommissioning the McGowan Creek Pump Station. <br />Project closeout is expected by the end of August to mid - September 2014. <br />
