Attachment 1 3 <br /> ADDENDUM No. 1 <br /> to the <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SUPPORTING A REGIONAL PARTNERSHIP <br /> FOR WATER SUPPLY PLANNING AND POTENTIAL JOINT USE OF THE B.EVERETT <br /> JORDAN RESERVOIR <br /> The purpose of this Addendum is to extend the term of the Memorandum of Understanding from <br /> June 30, 2014 to June 30,2019. The addendum is authorized under the MOU pursuant to Section <br /> 7 regarding Duration,Amendment and Termination,which states that the term of the MOU can <br /> be extended upon mutual written agreement of the signatories. <br /> WHEREAS, the Jordan Lake Partnership has proved a successful collaborative effort to define <br /> Jordan Lake's role in a long-term sustainable and secure regional water supply for the Research <br /> Triangle Region; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Partnership has accomplished a number of its objectives, including calculating <br /> peer-reviewed population and water demand projections, identifying future water supply needs, <br /> Phase I of the Interconnections Study,the Western Intake Study, drafted alternative supply plans <br /> and unanimously agreed on a preferred regional alternative, and completed Volumes I& II of the <br /> Triangle Regional Water Supply Plan; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the work of the Partnership is ongoing, including Phase II of the Interconnections <br /> Study, and submission of Partners' Jordan Lake allocation applications; and, <br /> WHEREAS,Partners intend to continue to support regional collaboration by participating in the <br /> Jordan Lake Partnership; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED,that the signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding Supporting a <br /> Regional Partnership for Water Supply Planning and Potential Joint Use of the B. Everett <br /> Jordan Reservoir would like to extend the term of the MOU; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,the signatories have agreed to the following Addendum to the <br /> Memorandum of Understanding: <br />
