95 <br />DEFINITIONS <br />Related to Agricultural Support Enterprises <br />In an effort to minimize the number of pages for the amendment package, relevant <br />definitions have been extracted from the UDO and proposed new definitions are listed <br />as a group. Exercise rings shall be considered accessory uses <br />to a commercial stable. Smaller scale events, such as horse shows expected to generate less than 80 <br />traffic trips per day, may be held no more often than once per month. The operator of a commercial <br />stable may reside on the property to ensure the continuous care of animals kept on the site. <br />Proaosed Definitions for New Terms: <br />Agricultural Processing Facility, Community <br />A facility utilized for the processing of produce and /or other commodities produced by no more than 5 <br />cooperative farm partners for the consumption of others (e.g. small canning operation); Activities shall <br />include, but may not be limited to, canning, dehydrations, washing, cutting or basic preparation of raw <br />produce but does not include processing of live animals (see Meat Processing Facility). May include <br />accessory retail sales of products processed on -site. <br />Agricultural Processing Facility <br />A facility utilized for the processing and packaging of produce and /or other commodities for transport to <br />off -site wholesale or retail establishments. Facilities may be utilized by farm -based producers, <br />restaurateurs, caterers, food entrepreneurs, and the like. Activities shall include, but may not be limited <br />to, canning, dehydrations, washing, cutting or basic preparation of raw produce.prior to shipment but does <br />not include processing of live animals (see Meat Processing Facility). May include accessory retail sales <br />of products processed on -site. <br />Agritourism <br />A business directly related or incidental to agricultural activities occurring on the bona fide farm on which <br />it is located and conducted for the enjoyment or education of the public. <br />1 This is considered a bona fide farm operation under State Statutes and cannot be regulated with zoning so staff is <br />suggesting it be deleted from the UDO. <br />
