N.C. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners Mark <br />Dorosin, Alice M. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br />1. Text Amendments to the Joint Plannina Land Use Plan and Aareement — <br />Michael Harvey said this is a public hearing to review proposed amendments to existing <br />language to ensure agricultural activities are recognized as being allowed throughout the Rural <br />Buffer, require a minimum 2 acre density, allow for the clustering of subdivision lots in those <br />portions of the Rural Buffer outside of the University Lake Watershed Area, and clarify text <br />associated with the minimum lot size within the University Lake Watershed Area. <br />Michael Harvey presented the following PowerPoint slides: <br />MARCH 27, 2014 <br />AGENDA ITEM: C -1 <br />JOINT PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING <br />ORANGE COUNTY, TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL, TOWN OF CARRBORO <br />JOINT PLANNING IN ORANGE COUNTY: <br />Began in 1984 with a call for the development of a land use plan. <br />Participants adopted a Joint Planning Land Use Plan October 13, 1986 outlining <br />acceptable levels of development in identified areas outside of existing extraterritorial <br />jurisdictional (ETJ) areas. <br />21 <br />
