4 <br /> of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the <br /> measures above <br /> 8) The owners of the Edwards Place LLC farm, Jane D Williams and Carolyn Wilson, <br /> have submitted an application to enroll two (2) parcels of land totaling 137 acres as <br /> qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) program in the White <br /> Cross Agricultural District The farm operation is comprised of managed <br /> woodland/forestry land The Williams/Wilson farm has been evaluated against each <br /> of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the <br /> measures above. <br /> 9) The owner of the Norman Walker farm has submitted an application to enroll two (2) <br /> parcels of land totaling 15 55 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary <br /> Agricultural District (VAD) program in the Caldwell Agricultural District (VAD) The <br /> parcels are contiguous to other parcels previously enrolled in the program The farm <br /> is comprised sed of managed woodland/forest and pasture land Th <br /> P 9 land/forestry p e Walker farm has <br /> been evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and <br /> meets or exceeds all of the measures above <br /> To be formally designated as part of a Voluntary Agricultural District program, the Board of <br /> Commissioners must approve that the farms meet the certification requirements as per the <br /> Agriculture Preservation Board's findings <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT- There is no fiscal impact associated with this item Voluntary <br /> Agricultural Districts are non-monetary and non-binding conservation agreements <br /> Enhanced Voluntary Agriculture Districts are non-monetary and are binding 10-year <br /> conservation agreements <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S). The Manager recommends that the Board certify the nine (9) <br /> farm properties noted above totaling 514 52 acres (VAD) and 266 48 acres (EVAD) as <br /> denoted in the attached documentation as qualifying farmland, and designate them as a <br /> Voluntary or Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural District farm within the Cedar Grove, <br /> Caldwell, Schley/Eno, and White Cross Voluntary Agricultural Districts, and enroll the <br /> lands in the Orange County Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) and the Enhanced <br /> Voluntary Agricultural District (EVAD) programs. <br /> With approval of these additional acres, the Orange County Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> Program will have enrolled 47 farms, totaling 6,258 acres in the VAD and 726 acres in the <br /> EVAD for a total of 6,984 acres (rounded) <br />
