21 <br />Page 2 of 2 Thomas Eisenhart <br />Growing up in a rural area and spending hours upon hours outdoors gave me an appreciation for <br />the environment at a very young age. As I ve grown older, my academic pursuits have reflected <br />this interest in environmental preservation and protection, and I want to use this passion to serve <br />our beautiful county and the current and future citizens who inhabit it. After completing my Ph.D. <br />I do not plan on continuing on the a €oetraditionala€ academic career path, and the idea of <br />moving into science and environmental policy is of great interest to me. I know that serving on <br />this commission will provide me with excellent experience in how communities tackle current <br />and future environmental problems. While I know that I certainly will learn a lot from this <br />commission, I also feel that I would be an asset to the commission if chosen to serve. I have <br />quickly grown to love this area of the country, and Orange County in particular, and I genuinely <br />care about the state of the environment here.
