Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Jacobs: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Orange County Recreation and Parks Advisory Council has recently reviewed all applicants for <br />the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council. The board unanimously recommends Ingrid Medcalf to <br />fill the Chapel Hill Town Limits position currently,vacant. Ms. Medcalf is a resident of the Town of <br />Chapel Hill. Diana Caplow, who was recently appointed by the Board for this position, was no longer <br />interested in serving. <br />"The criteria for this position are: <br />• That the applicant selected be a resident of the Town of chapel Hill, that he/she show an active <br />interest in the development and improvement of recreational opportunities and parks in Orange <br />County. <br />• That he/she possess experience or training in recreational activities and/or <br />• Experience or training or demonstrated interest in parks and a <br />• Willingness to commit to active participation on the Council <br />In addition, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council is committed to increasing the diversity of <br />Council members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of representation whenever <br />possible. <br />It is the feeling of the Council that Ms. Medcalf will provide valuable input as a member because: <br />• She will represent the Town of Chapel Hill as a resident and property owner. <br />• She is an active volunteer in our community and our schools. <br />• Ms. Medcalf has stated that she is interested in "preserving green space" and iri "promoting parks <br />and community activities, especially for the youth in our neighborhoods." <br />• She has an interest in recreation and parks as demonstrated in indicating this board as her only area <br />of interest. <br />In addition, Ms. Medcalf is the only applicant from, Chapel Hill. <br />Thank you for your consideration of this nomination. <br />Sincerely, <br />.L'ani.
