Mary Ann Peter
118 W. Tryon Street
Hillsborough, NC 27278
September 19, 2006
Monica C. Evans
Assistant to the Clerk/ Boards and Commissions
200 S. Cameron Street
P.O. Box 8181
Hillsborough, NC 27278
919-245-2125 (phone)
919-644-0246 (fax)
To the Orange County Board of Commissioners,
As chair of the Orange County Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee, I
would like to recommend the appointment of two new members for two remaining
vacancies. They are Carol Heirman and Anne Winfield, both long-time residents
of Orange County. Ms. Heirman is a resident of northern Orange County and Ms.
Winfield is a resident of Chapel Hill. They both have attended a meeting of the
committee and understand the responsibilities. Both have many years of health
care experience and a special interest in the well being of older adults in long-
term care.
We would be fortunate to have you appoint them. Several current committee
members are having difficulty meeting attendance and facility visit requirements
due to health reasons and demands of full-time employment. We need
enthusiastic and capable reinforcements and both of these people fit that
description.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Peter, RN, PhD
Chair, Orange County Nursing Home. Community Advisory Committee
Jill Passmore,
Region J Lead LTC Ombudsman
