Excerpt of Minutes I JAttachrnenF5] <br />APPROVED 1/23/2014 <br />MINUTES <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />QUARTERLY PUBLIC HEARING <br />November 25, 2013 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners and the Orange County Planning Board <br />met for a Quarterly Public Hearing on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the DSS <br />Office, Hillsborough, N.C. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Barry Jacobs and Commissioners Mark <br />Dorosin, Alice M. Gordon, Bernadette Pelissier, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Earl McKee <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: John Roberts <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: Interim County Manager Michael Talbert and Deputy Clerk to the <br />Board David Hunt (All other staff members will be identified appropriately below) <br />PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Pete Hallenbeck, and Planning Board <br />members Maxecine Mitchell, Lisa Stuckey, Paul Guthrie, Herman Staats, Tony Blake, Andrea <br />Rohrbacher, and H.T. "Buddy" Hartley <br />PLANNING BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Johnny Randall, James Lea, Stephanie O'Rouke <br />Chair Jacobs called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. <br />A. OPENING REMARKS FROM THE CHAIR <br />Planning Board Chair Pete Hallenbeck had no opening remarks <br />B. PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />C. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br />1. 1. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment —To review government <br />initiated amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to change the existing <br />standards for home occupations, modify and clarify existing regulations and definitions <br />associated with home occupations, and allow for the exemption of special events organized or <br />affiliated with a governmental or non - profit agency.
