Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Jacobs: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Orange County Advisory Board on Aging reviewed all applicants for the Aging <br />Board's At-Large position #8 vacated at the end of the second term of Ms Mariah <br />McPherson. At the September 13th meeting of the Board, the Board approved <br />recommending Dr. Peggy Cohn to fill the position # 8 vacancy that will expire on June <br />30, 2009. <br />Dr. Cohn is a resident of #10 Bayswater Place, Chapel Hill and is presently retired from <br />several years as a Community Health Nursing educator at UNC and Penn State. She <br />served as University Director of Family Ties, Geriatric Care Management at State <br />College in Pennsylvania. Dr. Cohn also volunteered with Nursing Home visitation non- <br />profitBoards in Pennsylvania. <br />Dr. Cohn presently serves on the O.C. Adult Care Home Community Advisory <br />Committee. With her experience in Geriatric Care Management, Nursing Home <br />visitations, and working with non-profit Boards, she would be an asset to the Advisory <br />Board on Aging and the older population of Orange County. <br />Thank you for your consideration of her nomination. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jerry M.
