Sie encouraged the <br />dedication of money for affordable housing. <br />Staff Comment: The recommended Community Development Plan includes $9,000 for CASA's <br />Supportive Housing program. <br />7. Fbbert Dowling, the Executive Director for the Community Home Trust, stated that there <br />is a need for a local source of money for affordable housing. He said that the Community <br />Home Trust has 220 homes. The Community Home Trust has requested $50,000 of <br />Community Development and HOMEfundsfor the Homebuyer Assistance Program. The <br />organization hasalso requested $100,000 in HOMEfundsfor the Waterstone <br />development in Hillsborough and $18,000 in HOMEfundsfor operating costs. <br />Staff Comment: The recommended Community Development Ran includes $29,000 for the <br />Homebuyer Assistance Program. <br />8. Delores Bailey, the Executive Director of EmPOVVERnent, Inc., requested $10,000 of <br />Community Development funds for the Career Explorers program which services youth <br />from the ages of 16 to 21. <br />Staff Comment: The recommended Community Development Ran includes $2,000 for the <br />Career Explorers Program. <br />SUMMARY <br />The following recommended plan includes the use of $422,152 of Community <br />Development funds, including $17,338 of program income and $1,309 of residual <br />Community Development funds from a completed program. <br />FY 2014 ®2015 Action Plan 8 <br />
